Sangria Razz

12.3.08  |   None

Among the other things that got me drunk last night, my friend Brian decided to forgo the pleasantries of asking if I wanted to try a new shot and just ordered one for both of us. Good man. He also wouldn’t tell me what was in it, which was really cool for describing the shot because I couldn’t be biased by knowing the ingredients beforehand.

As I mentioned in my drunken rant, the night was a little strange as far as the people at our table. Nobody seemed to know who one of the girls was and another was a girl that a couple of us had worked with 4 years ago and hadn’t seen since. Nobody knew who had invited her either. The rest of the night’s story is in my drunken rant. Trisha was running late to meet up and we had been complaining all night about the ridiculous second loss of the season for the Lakers, so we decided to get drunk. That leads us to this shot.

My initial thought was that it tasted like blueberry liqueur as it went down. It tasted really good, but it had a strange aftertaste. I couldn’t figure it out until Brian told me that it had wine in it. That’s what it was. It tasted like a sweet shot and finished with a red wine taste that was a lot more bitter. I would say that this is definitely a decent shot, although a little on the girly side. I wouldn’t probably take it by choice, but I can imagine anyone who is a fan of sweet shots liking this one (aka girls).

Ingredients

1 Part: Bacardi® Razz Rum
1 Part: Bacardi® Limon Rum
1 Splash: Sprite®
1 Splash: Cabernet Sauvignon

Instructions

I had no part in making this shot, so I’m not sure how it was constructed, but I can only imagine putting all of the ingredients in a shaker with ice and straining into shot glasses. I don’t think that the splash of Sprite will foam enough to cause any problems.
