Flaming Lamborghini

I have so many stories and fond memories of this drink that I have no idea where to begin. This was the first drink that I ever thought was legitimately cool to see someone take. It was also the staple free birthday drink at my favorite bar in San Luis Obispo until the fire marshal came in one day and said that there are no longer any flaming drinks allowed in bars in San Luis Obispo. That was a sad day for us, but the drink lives on through making it at home and passing it on to you readers, so that you too can burn your friends’ eyebrows off or laugh at the girls who drink so slow that their straw actually melts.
The first thing I remember doing when I turned 21 and went to the bars in my college hometown of San Luis Obispo was this drink. It quickly became a reason on any night for everyone in the bar to cheer, as a new member of the 21+ crowd had joined the ranks and was celebrating with free fiery booze. The 21st birthday crawl in San Luis Obispo is known for many drinks, but this one was by far the most dramatic and talked about (the Bull Sweat is the grossest though) in its day.
A group of people would form outside the doors, eager to show off their newly legal IDs. They slowly entered the bar, much louder and in greater numbers than the average patrons. You could always tell the 21st birthday crowd. In some form or other they would approach the bar, show off the birthday boy or girl, and ask for a birthday shot. They got the Flaming Lamborghini and the birthday boy or girl lost all memories thereafter. No matter how many times we saw this, everyone in the bar stopped what they were doing, watched and cheered.
Make sure that if you try this you read the instructions and watch the video below. Honestly, everyone needs to try this drink once in their life. Whether you melt your straw from slowness, burn off your eyebrows from an overeager bartender, or just get hammered, this is a drink for the ages.
Ingredients
1 Part: Bailey’s® Irish Cream
1 Part: Blue Curacao Liqueur
1 Part: Kahlua® Coffee Liqueur
1 Part: Sambuca
1 Splash: Bacardi® 151 Rum (Optional, as a floater)
Extra: Cinnamon (In a shaker)
Instructions
Finally, I get to write some proper instructions. Get a martini or “cocktail” glass and pour in the Sambuca and Kahlua. Optionally, you can float some Bacardi 151 on top to make it that much more alcoholic. Get two separate shot glasses, fill one each with a shot of Bailey’s and Blue Curacao, and set them on either side of the martini glass. Get a long straw or make one by combining two straws. Light the shot on fire. As the drinker starts to drink through the straw, pour in the two remaining shots. Then sprinkle the drink with cinnamon from a shaker, making fireballs while they try to drink a full martini glass of alcohol before getting second degree burns and blackout drunk.
